Since winter is coming, let’s revisit some sizzling fashion for the Mother of Dragons
She is Khaleesi, Mother of Dragons, the last Dragon-blood, the last Targaryen, Mhysa. She is Daenerys Targaryen. She is the only true (women) ruler in the brutal world of Game Of Thrones. And when she is not busy winning battles and hearts around the seven kingdoms, she is your quintessential fashionista, one who is ever-evolving season after season. Emilia Clarke in her career-defining role has changed the meaning of being a blond and so much more.
Daenerys’ is one character whose fashion in the series is very detailed. So much so that its really difficult not to notice her sartorial choices even amidst so much blood-bath and nakedness to distract you, among a host of other things. Yet, it never overpowers her substance or the story-line. In that subtlety lies the true genius of her stylist and costume designer Michele Clapton. Daenerys’ fashion and style are the integral part of the evolution of her character.
In an ode to the Khaleesi and to celebrate the upcoming episodes of Season 6 of “Game of Thrones”, let’s try to see through (pun intended!) the fashion and style journey of the Mother of Dragons.
Embracing your vulnerability is not only liberating, it can be extremely sexy too.
The untouched innocence of teen-aged Daenerys in the first season
The flowing see-through dresses to tease the imaginations
When life deals you with a raw deal, you just go with it, take it, wait and strike when your time comes, a la Daenerys Targaryen
Practicality will take you a long way in life. Adapting to your environment is sometimes your life-saving hack. Who knows is better than Daenerys Targaryen?
Daenerys as Khaleesi
Roughing it out with Dothrakis
A leader is the one who can respect his/her people, their culture, ways of life and traditions. And no, showing the respect for your new people and life doesn’t mean killing your own individuality. Its an extension not a compromise.
Daenerys coming into her own as gritty Khaleesi
The savior of slaves — Mhysa
Colors are good. Fine. But have you ever explored the power of seemingly innocent whites, nudes and muted colors? Just like the true ruler of seven kingdoms — balanced, calm, strong, simple yet powerful. Nobody rocks is better than Daenerys Targaryen.
The powerful ivory fashion statement as the Queen
The romantic, almost out-worldly ivory
Respecting her people who were slaves and wore neck-chains before she freed them
Sexy and subtle, vulnerable and powerful
And finally, its perfectly fine to let your hair down and indulge in some guilty pleasures and digging into your femininity; even when you’re the Mother of Dragons — Daenerys Targaryen. So go out and have fun, loads of it.
The aura of Mhysa
Noe, isn’t simply gorgeous
Let’s play the Game of Thrones
Oh so sexy!
